Bryan's Bio
Wolves raised infant Bryan in the wilds of West Texas. The constant fight for survival ended when he discovered a functioning TV set in a hunting cabin. The magical box came alive, and Bryan emerged a fully functional and rational young man after ingesting a Sesame Street weekend marathon. He learned about civilized behavior and Jesus as Savior from his parents, Jim and Marilyn, and shared his Star Wars figures with his brother, Kevin.
When Bryan was 13 years old, a movie theater opened near his home in Arlington, Texas. He went there...a lot. He also received his first stereo (complete with dual cassette player) and built a large music collection...quickly.
Bryan left home for a higher education at Baylor University in Waco (and his mom immediately redecorated and repainted his room). (Yes, he attended during the "incident.") College provided many new and exciting opportunities: (A) increased free time for movie watching and (B) (since Bryan didn't drink alcohol) extra cash for building a CD collection.
As Bryan's film and music knowledge grew, so did his desire to help students who were seeking God. (The seeds grew during eight years of working at Christian camps.) He became college pastor at Hoffmantown Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His knowledge and love for God grew as he joined the other student pastors in creating book and video (Shock Wave) resources for youth pastors. The job also provided (A) Fridays off to see movies and (B) a steady paycheck, which enabled him to buy lots of CDs.
When he moved to Los Angeles, Bryan continued writing and producing Shock Wave videos as well as writing books (Group's Blockbuster Movie Illustrations) and curriculum (Stormchaser, Freestylin'). He also continued to work at various camps across the country. Most importantly (to him), he lived in the city of movies and dirt-cheap CDs.
Bryan continues to pursue God and reach students in unique ways. He and his lovely bride, Jill, attend Mosaic Church and lead a Bible study. Bryan co-hosts the Mind Over Media radio show in Los Angeles, which reviews new music and movies each week. He also serves as media editor for Group Magazine, creates the programming for Group Workcamps, and continues writing and producing videos.
